Series Concept: Street Skillz is a fast paced, gritty, in-your-face sports, culture, and music show. Street Skillz combines the best of competitive sports and reality television with urban styles and trends. This is the first and only reality program targeted to the urban market! Street Skillz is an original T-LINE TV production. Street Skillz is a one-hour, weekly formatted show. We will select 8 cities in the United States and hold Street Skillz basketball championships in those cities. After determining the Street Skillz champion from each city, we will then pit them against each other in a city verses city single elimination format, like the NCAA Tournament, culminating with the crowning of the United States Street Skillz Champion. But the show is much more than just basketball. Street Skillz helps to fulfill the "American Dream" of taking a player from the streets to professional basketball! The Street Skillz championship team gets a tryout with the USBL and MVP earns a guaranteed USBL contract. Today's generation gets its fashion and music senses from the streets. The center of any urban neighborhood is the basketball court. We'll take you to the epicenter for the greatest athletic feats and the latest style trends! Each show will start by taking a tour of the cities' hot spots. Sarge, the LA based, New York born comedian, will take you on a tour of that city's hot spots like you've never seen or heard before. This will be the quintessential urban travel guide to cool. Then we'll meet the best of the best streetballers from that city. We get the inside scoop on the two teams in out in-dept player features. We find out what makes them tick and then we throw the ball up and the action on the court is hotter then the action in the clubs. This is not your father's basketball - this is blacktop basketball at its inner city best! "No blood no foul", no traveling, this game is for real men! Kadar, a comedian out of Baltimore, is our Street Skillz "official" official; he will always wear a microphone and will keep the action in line, to a degree. The ref will be a cross between a comedian and a bouncer. If you think that the trash talk will only be between the players... wait until you hear our ref dish the dirt! The game will be broken up into segments to maximize the entertainment value. The games will be played 21 to determine the city champ. The first 15 points will cut into a high-energy music piece and the end of the game will be live to tape. They say that it's not worth tuning into the NBA until the final two minutes when the drama is at it's height. Well, Street Skillz delivers entertainment with the first 15 points. We then give you the drama as the game's final minutes in real time! Once the city winners are determined, they will then compete against each other in a weekly single elimination battle. This is where it really gets interesting as the best of New York takes on the best of Los Angeles, etc.! Each show will spend time getting to know each of the team members. We will shoot interviews and take you inside the personalities that make each player different. This will help to create a rooting interest for the fans that are not from one of the cities that is competing. The format will conclude with only two teams remaining in a city verses city format. The final show will be a 2-hour extravaganza with a history of some of the highlights of the previous shows plus an in-depth look at both of the final teams and it's players. Finally, it will be determined which city produced the best basketball players in the country and bragging rights will be theirs (both the city and the teams)! Street Skillz is a sports/entertainment show with segments on the players, dribbling, slam-dunk exhibitions, and musical performances to alternate with the incredible game action.
